Fast Wrap Chicago Gets Ready to Launch
Opening a new Fast Wrap franchise is always exciting. But opening one in the Chicago metropolitan area is especially exciting, given the multitude of uses for Fast Wrap Chicago’s shrink wrapping services in the region.
Being a shipping and transportation hub – with goods constantly moving through two major airports, around the Great Lakes region by ship through Chicago’s port, and across the country via multiple railroad and trucking companies – the region offers millions of opportunities to use Fast Wrap’s innovative shrink wrapping service to protect and preserve items during transport.
Chicago is known as the ‘windy city,’ and with the harsh winters and lots of snow, Fast Wrap Chicago’s shrink wrapping service is exactly what the construction and building industries will need to be able to protect workers and supplies from the elements. And their on-site installation means construction companies can shield anything from entire buildings to heavy equipment and machinery, preventing work delays and eliminating the need to transport equipment off-site to protect it from the weather.
Owned and operated by RAL Ventures – which also operates a mosquito control business, Vector Disease Control, Inc., during the summertime in Chicago – the new Fast Wrap Chicago franchise will provide year-round projects for the crews which, up until now, provided mosquito control services only during the summers.
In addition, because Vector already gets a lot of business doing backyard mosquito control before parties and events, the potential to also provide Fast Wrap’s same-day shade structures for events should add an additional revenue source for the new franchise.
In the mean time, however, Fast Wrap Chicago is focusing on educating people in the construction and transportation industries on the benefits of shrink wrapping, and is looking forward to landing some bigger jobs.
“Shrink wrapping is not common yet in the construction industry,” said Brian Bruno, director of business development for Fast Wrap Chicago. “There are still a lot of people using tarps and plastic sheeting and stuff. So it will take a little bit of education to get people to realize what we’re doing, how we’re doing it, and how it can be useful to them…
“And there’s really no risk of getting in over our heads with a job. The Fast Wrap USA guys say, ‘Go ahead and bid on any jobs you want, and if it’s above your level of expertise, we’ll come in and help make sure it gets done right.’ So that’s really the nice thing about having that support from the corporate office.”
And while Fast Wrap Chicago appreciates the support it receives from Fast Wrap USA, they are also already bringing new ideas to the table, including the possibility of using the blank canvas their shrink wrapping service leaves behind as a medium for advertising – whether it be the finished product of a building site under construction, or any other goods or services that could benefit from the exposure.
